Day 18 | Prophecy of the New Covenant
Jeremiah 31:31-34 & Acts 16:31
Luke 1:37 “For nothing is impossible with God.”
In Luke 1, the birth of John the Baptist and the birth of Jesus are both foretold by an angel’s appearance. Okay, you may have read this many times before and possibly discount the sheer shock of an angel’s being in our presence. Just imagine how this would certainly get our attention, and the people close around us may even question our sanity. Well, from generation to generation, the children of Israel had passed down the promise of the Messiah. They were anticipating His arrival—but when?
The angel appeared to Mary and said, “Do not be afraid. You have found favor with God.” After she picks herself up off the floor, she asked, “How can this be? As a virgin, it is not possible for me to give birth.” The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will accomplish this by the power of the Most High!”
When circumstances in our lives seem impossible, and there is no way a relationship can be mended or a financial need can be met or any other extreme example. . . .God. His will for our lives may be to do what we think is impossible.
Ephesians 3:20“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever! Amen.”
Memory Verse | Jeremiah 31:33a
I will put my law within them, and write it in their hearts.
