The Righteous And The Wicked

The Righteous And The Wicked

Proverbs 10:7

7 We have happy memories of the godly,

but the name of a wicked person rots away.

Central Truth

The memory of a righteous person is a blessing.

Devotional

How do we want to be remembered by our family and friends?

The central truth in today’s verse is that the memory of the righteous is a blessing. The name of the wicked rots away.  In Romans 3:10, the scripture says “as it is written, there is none righteous no not one.”

How then are you and I to live righteously and be a blessing? We can be made righteous and live righteously through Jehovah Tsidkenu, The Lord Our Righteousness. Jesus Christ was without sin, fully God and fully man.He took the sin of the whole world upon Himself and died on the cross to pay a debt (our debt) He did not owe.He is Our Righteousness. When we repent and receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, He imparts His righteousness to us.As we abide in Christ, obeying His leading we walk in the works He has for us to complete. He will be faithful to complete the work He begins in us.

Questions To Ponder

  • What steps can you and I take today to live righteously and be remembered as a blessing?

they only want to air their own opinions.”
