Thy Kingdom Come

Thy Kingdom Come

Ephesians 1:7-10

7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.

9 God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill his own good plan. 10 And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.

Central Truth

God’s plan has always been to save his people in his perfect timing.

Devotional

If we take in consideration what Paul is trying to convey to the Ephesians (Gentiles) we see at least five things:

  • Redemption through Jesus’ blood

  • Forgiveness of sins

  • Mystery of God’s will revealed

  • Fullness of time (God’s Timing)

  • All things as one in heaven and earth

Paul wants the Ephesians to know they have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus and no longer need the covering provided through man’s shedding of animal’s blood. They have forgiveness of sins once and for all, not an annual ritual as Old Testament Jews. God is revealing his ultimate plan (mystery) of Jesus’ blood shed as the unblemished lamb in human form to redeem each individual instead of a nation (Jews).   Finally, by God’s timing all things will be restored to the original created form (without the curse of sin).

God’s plan has always been to redeem His people (those he calls).   At first it was through a nation (Jews) and as humans do on a regular basis they accepted the privilege God gave but not the responsibility.   We as modern day believers are not any different.   We want the blessings (physical & spiritual) without the responsibility.

Our heavenly Father wants the very best for His children, but many times as children we think we know better than Him.   Therefore, comes our challenge.

When we allow God’s covering (the blood of Jesus) it brings peace and intimate fellowship with Him and delight with one another.  He purchased me for His Kingdom!

Do you cherish redemption? Forgiveness? Then you Glorify Him!!!!

Questions To Ponder

  • What does a believer have in Christ?

  • Describe how this has changed your life?

  • Thank The Lord for His grace and forgiveness.

Scripture Memory | March | Proverbs 21:30-31

“No human wisdom or understanding or plan

can stand against the Lord.

The horse is prepared for the day of battle,

but the victory belongs to the Lord.”
