God’s Power Extends To All Things
21 Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. 22 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. 23 And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.
God is in control!
Ephesians 1:21-23 is such a powerful collection of verses. I often worry about things that are happening around me. Anxiety is real in the life of a 22-year-old college student trying to finish school and follow the path God has laid out before me. These three verses offer a great reminder that I so often neglect. God is in control of all things. His power and rule extend across whoever is grading my papers, whoever is teaching on Sunday mornings, and whoever is sitting in office. My problem is I put my own ideas and thoughts before God’s. I do not always trust that He is sovereignly in control. Verses 22-23 are so relevant in the life of our church right now. While there are leaders in our church, we must always remember that Christ is the head of the church! He will provide for His church. We get to take part in the great mission of Christ that is being a part of His church. I want everyone to think about just how amazing it is that God would let a young 22-year-old like me partake in His mission. What a gracious and loving God we serve! I ask that we all check our hearts on this passage.
Questions To Ponder
Are you trusting God in all aspects of your life?
Do you truly believe that He will take care of you? If not talk to him about it now.
How are you contributing to the mission of Christ?
Are you building up or tearing down God’s holy church?

can stand against the Lord.

but the victory belongs to the Lord.”
